Survey Solutions

Survey Solutions is data collection software developed in the Data group of The World Bank. It joins questionnaire design with management tools for complex surveys, including interviews on tablets with no connection. Users now set up and run their own cloud or local server rather than having one provisioned for them.

What Survey Solutions offers

• Questionnaire design — nested rosters, answer piping, cascading and linked questions, barcode scanning, pictures, audio and sensor input.
• Multi-mode collection — offline tablet interviews, web forms, phone interviews and mixed-mode surveys.
• Data quality controls — validation rules, macros, calculated variables, lookup tables and live monitoring of paradata.
• Field management — reports on progress, status and maps, with cases that can be reassigned and interviewers who can switch language.
• GIS capture — locations, distances and areas, with geofencing and GPS guidance to interview points.
• APIs — REST APIs for custom dashboards, reports and links to external databases.
