StyleWriter4

StyleWriter4 is writing software that works alongside Microsoft Word. It reviews a document and shows the writer how to cut, simplify and redraft the text, much as a professional editor would.

What StyleWriter4 offers

• Jargon detection — a jargon checker flags specialist or inflated wording and suggests plainer alternatives.
• Graded word list — every word is rated for difficulty and for good or poor style, and slang or offensive terms are highlighted.
• Smart spellchecking — looks for inconsistencies and errors that standard spellcheckers miss.
• Writing statistics — gives ratings and statistics that can be tracked in an automatic style archive.
• Custom rules — companies can add their own style guide to check consistency and house rules.

Who it works with

The tool offers audience settings for public, in-house and specialist readers, and twenty writing task types that change how the text is scored.
