Zabbix 8.0 LTS

Not yet independently verified. Release date and support dates are from Zabbix's own pages and its Japanese subsidiary's press release; the performance claims have no published benchmark there and we found no independent test. We will update this when it can be confirmed, and remove this note.

Zabbix 8.0 LTS came out on 5 November 2026, and it pulls application telemetry into a tool long used for infrastructure monitoring. Metrics, traces and logs can now sit on one platform through native OpenTelemetry support, so a slow application can be read against the state of the servers under it.

Fewer alerts, and a way in for agents

Complex event processing filters, correlates, groups and prioritises events, with the stated aim of cutting unnecessary alerts. An official MCP server lets AI agents reach Zabbix, and their access to monitoring data follows existing user permissions and roles. The company names event analysis, incident management and root cause work as uses. ClickHouse support, a mobile app and ready-made dashboards also appear on the what's new page.

Upgrades need planning

The minimums go up: PHP 8.2, MySQL or Percona 8.4, PostgreSQL 15, MariaDB 10.11 and Elasticsearch 8.0. API access is off by default for all roles on new installations, and some older API methods and macros are gone. The article on the support dates sets out what breaks.
