Helo
An email API and SMTP service for transactional and marketing email, from a bootstrapped team of former Postmark engineers: one plan at $5 a month plus $0.00035 per email, with unlimited users and domains.
About this launch
Helo is an email API and SMTP service for sending transactional email, such as password resets, receipts and notifications, and marketing email from applications. Its co-founder presented it on Hacker News on 1 October 2026. The team says most of its members worked together for years at the email provider Postmark; its About page lists people in the United States, Canada, Germany and Japan and says the company is bootstrapped and intends to stay independent. Helo offers one plan: 1,000 free emails for testing, then a $5 monthly platform fee plus $0.00035 per email, with unlimited users, unlimited sending domains, multi-tenant sending, detailed analytics and unlimited webhooks. Its pricing page includes a calculator comparing the bill with other email services at different volumes.
Not yet independently verified: The launch date rests on the makers’ own Show HN post of 1 October 2026, and the team’s background on their own About page. The site names no legal entity or headquarters, and no independent report was found. We will update this when it can be confirmed, and remove this note.
