Wayra Germany

Wayra Germany is the open innovation hub of Telefónica Deutschland, which operates in Germany as o2. It links start-ups with the telecom company's business units so that outside ideas can be tested and brought into the business.

What Wayra Germany does

• Start-up scouting: finding young companies whose products suit a Telefónica need.
• Venture clienting: developing and validating a start-up's solution with a Telefónica business area as the first customer.
• Scaling support: guiding a pilot through to wider rollout inside the company.
• Investment: backing for selected start-ups.

Who it works with

It serves two groups: start-ups looking for a corporate partner, and teams inside Telefónica Deutschland looking for external innovation. Past success stories involve Whalebone, Infravista, Hiya and Spectronite.
