Invent Dev's story starts with a pair of newlyweds looking to buy their first home. David Payne and his wife were looking at condos in Mississauga, Ontario, and were frustrated that they were expected to visualize a home from 2D floorplans. David, a senior software architect at one of Canada's top tech firms, saw a chance to change how we visualize pre-construction homes.

So Invent Dev was born with a mission to change the home-buying journey, making it more informative, more enjoyable and stress-free. Invent Dev’s innovative approach, including early adoption of virtual reality technology, lead to the development of the Digital Model Home: a dimensionally-accurate, photorealistic 3D simulation of the entire development.

The Digital Model Home completely changes how people buy and look for homes. Now, they can explore multiple floorplans, swap out options, finishes, and upgrades, and explore every inch of space from the comfort of their home or inside a sales center. Our products have been used to sell hundreds of homes in North America and around the world.

Invent Dev recently expanded into the world of home improvement retail with Invent Showrooms. This powerful new tool lets people design their ideal renovations using a retailer’s entire catalog, giving a better visualization of renovations before they buy, leading to better sales and fewer returns.

Invent Dev’s visualization experiences have been featured by Samsung, Yahoo!, The Globe & Mail, BNN, The Toronto Star and other media outlets, and was ranked in 2017 as “The Product for Builders” by Builder Online magazine.
