Bike Citizens

Bike Citizens was founded as BikeCityGuide in Graz in 2011 by the bike messengers Daniel Kofler and Andreas Stückl. Grown to employ of about 25 people Bike Citizens opened another office in Berlin in February 2015.

Bike Citizens aims to make cycling in cities more attractive and to improve the quality of life in cities. The company develops its own cycling-related products and offers a platform to the community of urban cyclists.

The Bike Citizens App is available for more than 450 cities and offers offline navigation, routing, tracking, city tours, team features and a personal dashboard including activity screen, profile and news feed. It was developed with the know-how of bike messengers on the basis of OpenStreetMap.

Bike Citizens also developed the best-selling smartphone mount Finn that reliably fastens any smartphone to any handlebar.

To cities, businesses and organizations wishing to strengthen their sustainable image, Bike Citizens offers reliable software solutions as well as communication and marketing concepts.

In 2017 Bike Citizens finally adapted the company name to Bike Citizens Mobile Solutions GmbH.

Along with the new company name there came a lot of new digital services for cities, such as Bike Citizens Analytics, a tool to analyse GPC cycling data; PING if you care!, the engagement tool helping municipalities to get in closer contact with their inhabitants; the integration of bike to work campaigns into the app, or the Bike Benefit System, that is rewarding people that are riding a bike.
