The company was founded by David McDonald and Theo Duchen, two former McKinsey partners, in 2000. Over the past 19 years, the Acturis Group has grown to nearly £80m of revenues in 2018 and has more than 700 colleagues in 5 countries and clients in more than 40 countries around the world. Every year, Acturis has achieved consistent double-digit growth in users, revenues and profits since the system went live in 2002. Even though our revenues have grown at more than 20% per annum over the past 10 years, we are not content to stand still, re-investing £14m a year in the development of our products, services, and platforms.

We launched the first multi-tenant industry-specific SaaS platform in July 2002, completing the UK’s first end-to-end e-trade insurance integration later that year. Acturis remains the UK’s leading commercial e-trade product offering, supporting more of the UK’s insurers and brokers than any other platform. With over 20,000 users choosing Acturis as their broker platform, Acturis has proven a trusted and crucial element of their business. 9 of the top 10 top UK commercial lines insurers use the Acturis System as their chosen multi-channel SME underwriting and distribution platform. Today, if a small business buys an insurance policy online, the chances are they are buying from an Acturis customer and the entire process has been enabled by the Acturis System.

The Acturis Group is now seeking to replicate its success outside the UK, as well as entering other insurance industry segments. Through our acquisitions of Assfinet and NAFI and Lutronik, Acturis Deutschland is now the leading integrated software and pricing data provider to the German insurance broking market and, through our acquisition of NIS, the Acturis Group is now the leading software provider to the global travel insurance, international health and assistance market. In 2017, Acturis acquired ICE InsureTech which provides a modular, user-configurable, enterprise insurance suite covering the entire P&C process including the award-winning ICE Claims, ICE Policy, ICE Billing, ICE Analytics and ICE Digital.

In 2019, Acturis Group entered the Canadian market by acquiring Zycomp Systems (leading provider of broker management software solutions with over 800 installations across Canada and the Caribbean) and the French market with the acquisition of Add Value Assurances, the French leader in commercial e-trading with a network of over 3,000 brokers, growing at more than 60% per annum.
