Screencastify

Screencastify is a US screen recorder that runs in the browser and is designed mainly for education. Teachers use it to record lessons, cover plans for substitute staff, training videos and station rotation instructions, and it also works on Chromebooks.

What Screencastify offers

• Recording and editing — captures and trims videos for lessons, how-to guides, assignments and assessments.
• Annotations — mark up a video to draw attention to key ideas.
• Interactive Questions — questions placed inside a video, turning it into a graded assignment.
• Submit — lets students record and hand in their own videos for reflections, skills practice or portfolios.
• Analytics and branding — reports on how viewers engage, plus school or organisation branding on videos.
• Lesson library — more than 1,000 standards-aligned videos and lesson resources.

Who it works with

Screencastify serves teachers, students and schools; viewers can pause, rewatch and use AI translation to make videos more accessible.
