Software that finds and fixes poor-quality OpenTelemetry data before it reaches an observability backend, with Rose, an instrumentation agent, and Insights, a telemetry quality scorer; raised a $4m seed round in October 2026.

About OllyGarden

OllyGarden is a software company that checks the quality of telemetry, the traces, logs and metrics that applications send to monitoring tools. It was founded by contributors to the OpenTelemetry project, and its pitch is that poor data should be caught before it reaches an observability bill or an engineer's dashboard.

What OllyGarden does

The company has two products. OllyGarden Insights detects quality problems in telemetry across services and shows where it breaks down. OllyGarden Rose works at the source: it reviews code and improves OpenTelemetry instrumentation. The site describes a four-step loop of ingest, analyse, score and fix, with findings ranked by impact and turned into code changes or pipeline improvements.

On 9 October 2026 OllyGarden published a post introducing minimum viable instrumentation in Rose. Where an application has no instrumentation, Rose reads the codebase, writes a plan, configures the OpenTelemetry SDK, adds a small number of business attributes and opens a pull request for engineers to review. The post cites one batch job that produced 633,718 spans with a standard Java agent, against six under the minimum plan. The company also reports that its audits found credentials or personal data leaking into telemetry at five of six companies.

Who OllyGarden serves

The site speaks to platform engineering, observability and security teams. It names the problems it targets as noisy telemetry, missing context, sensitive data in pipelines and unreliable input for AI agents. It lists no customers by name. The minimum viable instrumentation feature is available to existing enterprise customers, with a free trial for new ones, and the site says teams can start without a credit card.
