Kapwing

Kapwing is an online video editing platform run by a San Francisco company that describes itself as female-founded and female-led. Everything happens in the browser, so creators and teams can edit, subtitle and publish from any computer without installing software. Its newer tools can also build a layered video project from a single written prompt.

What Kapwing offers

• Video editor — a drag-and-drop timeline for trimming, combining and layering clips and overlays.
• AI video generation — draft projects with layers, timing and sound created from a prompt, plus script, B-roll and clip generation.
• Subtitles — on-screen captions created without leaving the browser.
• Translation and dubbing — captions and voice tracks converted into more than 40 languages.
• Audio tools — Clean Audio, Smart Cut, Speaker Focus, text to speech and a separate audio editor.
• Templates — ready layouts for social media, brand content and education.
