Food Data Services

Food Data Services is a UK software company behind Nutritional Pro, a downloadable program that calculates nutrition information for recipes and produces the data needed on food labels. It was first used mainly by manufacturers meeting ingredient labelling rules and now serves a much wider mix of food organisations.

What Food Data Services offers

• Nutrition calculator — builds a recipe from an ingredient list and instantly works out energy, nutrients, vitamins and minerals.
• Labelling software — ingredient declarations, allergens, front-of-pack data, traffic lights, reference intakes and EU and USA label formats.
• Recipe analysis — graphs showing which ingredients add most salt or saturated fat, to guide healthier product development.
• Main 8 report — filters over 250 nutritional values down to the eight needed on a label, with allergen and ingredient details per dish.
