ConfTool

ConfTool GmbH, founded in Hamburg in 2010, develops ConfTool, a web-based system for running academic conferences, workshops, congresses and seminars. It takes an event from the call for papers and peer review through to the programme, participant registration and invoicing, for on-site or online gatherings. The firm says more than 5,000 organisers have used it, and the interface is offered in over 15 languages.

What ConfTool offers

• Submissions and reviews — adjustable submission and review forms, with invitations to reviewers and programme committee members.
• Scheduling — building the conference timetable from sessions and accepted papers.
• Registration and invoicing — registration forms with conditions and attendance caps, with payment through PayPal, Stripe or optional modules covering over 45 card gateways.
• Virtual events — in-platform messages and links out to outside resources when a conference runs online.
• Data protection — hosting on servers in Germany, a separate database per conference and deletion of data once a project ends.
