Akada Software

Akada Software builds business management software made specifically for dance studios. The company grew out of a custom system that a software engineer, Dale, wrote in the early 1980s for his wife Suzi's dance school, and it is still family-run. Its aim is to cut the admin load on studio owners so they can spend more time teaching.

What Akada Software offers

• Registration — online sign-up with review and approval tools, class scheduling, enrolment and checks for timetable clashes.
• Billing and payments — tuition calculation and digital payment processing.
• Messaging — texting and two-way messages for studio-wide notices or direct contact with families.
• Recitals — planning performances, with costume sizing and costume billing.
• Staff hours — tracking time worked at the studio or spent teaching classes.
• Reports and apps — over 200 reports on finances, enrolment and attendance, plus Akada Studio for owners and Akada Portal for families.

Who it works with

Dance studio owners and the families whose children attend their classes. The company also publishes a guide for studios moving across from another system.
