Building and covering a roster

Managers can build a staff schedule in minutes instead of hours, and the vendor says teams spend up to 80 percent less time on scheduling. Employees can swap shifts and pick up open ones without a manager stepping in. When someone calls out at the last minute, the system alerts qualified, available staff immediately and shows the open shift on the schedule, so they can claim it from a phone and the manager does not have to chase cover by group text. Real-time visibility lets managers see staff schedules wherever they are, and the system is designed to remove conflicts across an enterprise.

Time clock and payroll

The built-in time clock lets any device with internet access serve as a clock-in point. Hours reconcile automatically and are exported to payroll, and the platform connects to payroll and HR systems including Workday, ADP and PeopleSoft, so that approved hours arrive in payroll untouched by hand.

The company argues that general scheduling apps are made to fit any business and so bend awkwardly to real operations. SubItUp says it was purpose-built for matters such as certification tracking, work-study hour limits, seasonal surges, payroll across several departments and desk cover all day and night.

The site offers a pro plan that combines scheduling with project management, distributing projects and tasks and giving access to on-demand labor in one place. It also advertises FlowAI, described as an AI digital worker that manages tasks, finds operational efficiencies and coaches teams. Plans are priced by the number of employees scheduled, with a minimum, and larger deployments can qualify for volume discounts. According to the FAQ, smaller teams with simple schedules are usually running in around two weeks, while larger departments take three to four, with the account team handling setup and integrations. The older terms offer a short free evaluation before a subscription begins.
