Detroit Action

Detroit Action is a grassroots, community-based organisation in Detroit, Michigan. It works to build power for workers and Detroiters of colour across the metro region, through campaigns on economic policy, police reform, civic participation and climate.

What Detroit Action offers

• Agenda for a New Economy: a campaign for state and local laws that invest in quality jobs, education and community programmes.
• Service and mutual aid: a team that contacts people who ask for help through an online interest form.
• Civic participation: encouragement to vote, including by absentee ballot, and to hold elected officials to account.
• Toolkits and petitions: online tools that members use to engage legislators.
• Membership: people can join as members and take part in the campaigns.
