Basedash Models

Basedash Models is a semantic workspace inside Basedash, released on 19 September 2026. It lets a company define a business concept such as customers once, as reusable SQL attached to a data source, so that two teams stop counting the same thing differently. The SQL stays the source of truth, and the workspace is where the team governs it.

What Basedash Models offers

• Governed models: reusable definitions of concepts such as customers, orders or active accounts, written as SQL.
• Editors: separate editors for details, columns, measures and segments.
• Relationships and guidance: links between models, with written notes on when each should be used.
• Table-style queries: analysts call a model inside a query as if it were a table, so they never rebuild its definition.
• AI context: the company's AI assistant reads the same measures, segments and usage notes when it writes SQL.

Customers and markets

Organisations that use Basedash and want AI analytics to answer from approved definitions. Administrators can turn Models off for an organisation not yet ready for it.
