U Squared

U Squared, which trades as USQRD, is an AI delivery studio staffed by senior practitioners. It began in January 2017 as a spin-off from research at UCL and applies AI to business problems.

Its current offer centres on one scoped workflow at a time, built in the client's own environment and handed over to the client's team.

What U Squared offers

• Fractional Head of AI or CTO — part-time technical direction, including technical due diligence and build-or-buy decisions.
• Production agent delivery — agents for document review, report generation, database querying and data extraction.
• Knowledge and search systems — enterprise search and question answering over company data, with evaluation built in.
• AI strategy and architecture — picking and prioritising AI projects, and training executives.

Who it works with

The studio serves scale-ups from Series A upwards and large enterprises. Its site names organisations such as Sky, The Guardian and Anglo American among past clients.
