San Francisco AI lab behind Jev, a model that returns typed answers (a choice from a list, a score, a true/false value) with probabilities for software to act on; API access in early access, Series A led by Andreessen Horowitz announced October 2026.
TypeSafe is an AI lab whose site describes its work as machine-native intelligence infrastructure for automation. Its first public model, Jev, is built for software rather than conversation: it takes a state and a set of typed questions and returns structured answers that code can use directly, with no text generation or parsing step.
Jev supports three question types. Choice selects an option from a list, Score rates the state against a rubric, and a true or false question returns a value between 0 and 1. Choice and Score also return probabilities and a confidence value, so a system can act on its own above a threshold you set and send uncertain cases to a person. Several question types can be combined in one API call, and the questions are evaluated in parallel and in isolation.
It is aimed at teams building automation. Jev is offered through an API, with documentation and an API console, and is in early access. The home page lists input pricing of $42 per billion tokens. The service is operated by TypeSafe AI, Inc. of San Francisco, California. In October 2026 the company announced a Series A led by Andreessen Horowitz.
