Salesforce agrees to buy AI analytics firm Loops for Tableau
Close is expected in early November, in Salesforce's fiscal 2027. No price is disclosed, and Loops' technology and staff are to be folded…
Product analytics company whose AI agent Scout answers plain-language questions and explains KPI changes with causal models. Salesforce agreed to acquire it on 12 October 2026.
Loops is a product analytics company that uses causal models to work out which product and marketing actions are most likely to move a business's key metrics. It describes its mission as changing how companies use data to grow their products. On 12 October 2026 Salesforce announced a definitive agreement to acquire the company, with completion expected in early November.
Its AI analytics agent is called Scout. Anyone in a company can ask it questions in plain language, and it watches chosen KPIs and sends alerts and summaries to Slack, Microsoft Teams and email. Loops says this lets analysts spend less time on routine requests and more on deeper research, and that its causal approach avoids the invented answers it associates with generic generative AI tools.
The listed capabilities are detection of KPI drops with their likely causes, root cause analysis that ranks possible explanations such as marketing changes, bugs, seasonality or experiments, and causal analysis of why a metric moved. The company also estimates the effect of a release without an A/B test by simulating an experiment, even with limited traffic, and maps the user journeys and funnels that lead to conversion or churn. Setup is described as no-code: connect data sources, choose the KPIs to improve, then review insights.
The site has solution pages for data analysts and product managers, and for e-commerce, gaming and media, financial services, healthcare, B2B software and food and beverage. It shows customer logos including AB InBev, O2, Monday, ClickUp, Adidas and Atera. The outcome figures on its site are customer claims published by the company.
