Arter Kirkwood & Associates

Arter Kirkwood & Associates is a Canadian technology consultancy started in 2010 by Rick and Evan, who set out to help firms do business from phones and tablets. From a first customer in Edmonton, Alberta, it grew to serve businesses across Canada, building apps for companies and government.

What Arter Kirkwood & Associates offers

• Business mobile apps — apps for iPhone, iPad, Android and the web, with a specialism in alerting and notification technology.
• Project reviews and planning — assessment of ideas and projects, followed by recommendations and action plans.
• Lean and agile coaching — its own variations on daily scrums, backlog grooming, sprint planning and product reviews.
• Hands-on delivery — staff can join a team as product owner, scrum master, project manager, architect, UX designer, tester or developer.
• Ongoing oversight — regular check-ins and seats on review committees or advisory boards.
• Bitcoin advisory — helping companies judge whether Bitcoin belongs on the balance sheet as a reserve asset.

Who it works with

Its clients are businesses and government bodies, with a focus on business rather than consumer apps.
