• What is the origin of the Paperclip name? Our name comes from the “Paperclip Maximizer” thought experiment first described by Nick Bostrom, which postulated that if a sufficiently powerful Artificial General Intelligence (AGI) is programmed to maximize for the production of paperclips, at some stage it will destroy all life on the planet in the name of paperclip maximization Eventually, the AI will develop interstellar travel and turn the universe into a paperclip production plant

We name ourselves Paperclip in the recognition that poor systems and structures can result in significantly negative outcomes to society and that, as early investors and advisors, we can do our part to push the world towards a better path
