Gaspard-Gustave de Coriolis was a pioneering French engineer, mathematician, and scientist (1792-1843) who was the first to document the previously unperceived effect of the earth’s high-speed rotation upon objects on earth

His discovery, the Coriolis Effect, profoundly influenced fields as diverse as meteorology and rocket science He taught us that rapid movement and change, unperceived and unanticipated by most, are absolute constants and that real innovation requires both knowledge of the present and anticipation of where the world is heading
