William J Roy, CFA

Mr Roy has twenty eight years of experience working as a financial services analyst and portfolio manager From 2003 to 2013 Mr Roy served as Director of Research and Member of Jacobs Asset Management (JAM), a financial services hedge fund overseeing roughly $800M in assets Mr Roy was also a founding Member of JAM Equity Partners, a private equity fund which managed roughly $300M in assets He joined Merrill Lynch in February 2002, as lead equity research analyst covering the mortgage finance and thrift industries Prior to that, Mr Roy co-founded a mortgage technology Internet start-up which was sold in 2001 Mr Roy began his career in 1989 at Trust Company of the West (TCW) where he led equities research on the financial services and banking industries He left TCW in August of 1996 to join Arco Investment Management (AIMCO) as the firm’s financial services equity research analyst and portfolio manager of a segregated fund From 2005 to 2014 Mr Roy served on the Board of Directors of Silvergate Bank in San Diego, California Mr Roy currently resides in San Juan, Puerto Rico where he manages Cavatina Capital Management LLC, a digital asset based merchant bank He is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) and a member of both the Los Angeles Association of Financial Securities Analysts and the Association of Investment Management and Research He holds a Bachelor of Science degree from California Polytechnic University, Pomona
