HarperDB

Distributed database and application runtime for edge, on-premise and cloud workloads

About HarperDB

HarperDB, which now trades as Harper, is a software company with its own approach to distributed data storage. It runs on any device with an operating system and lets organisations collect, process and distribute data from the edge, on premises and the cloud.

The current product brings database, cache, application logic and messaging together in one runtime so that data stays in the same process as the code that uses it. A managed cloud service was added to let teams get started quickly.

What HarperDB offers

  • Distributed data storage — data spread across an enterprise, from edge devices to cloud servers.
  • Single runtime — database, API and distribution logic combined rather than separate products.
  • Managed cloud — a hosted service for fast setup.
  • Standard interfaces — compatibility with common reporting tools.
  • Support for AI agents — memory, embeddings and context cache held within the runtime.

Who it works with

Teams in telecoms, IoT, mobile apps, streaming media, gaming, machine learning and e-commerce.
