UVexplorer

UVexplorer is on-premise, Windows-based software that finds the devices on a network and draws how they connect. It was created by UVnetworks, which has since been acquired by Paessler, the company behind PRTG Network Monitor.

What UVexplorer offers

• Device discovery — finds routers, switches, servers, workstations, virtual machines and wireless access points.
• Network maps — produces port-level layer-2, VLAN, wireless and virtual association maps.
• Inventory reports — collects device details for asset reporting.
• Configuration backup and change tracking — keeps records of device settings and alerts on changes.
• Exports and integrations — sends maps and data to tools such as PRTG, Lucidchart, Jira and IT Glue, with Slack, ServiceNow and email notifications.

Who it works with

Network administrators and IT service providers. A separate server edition rolls up several networks for large enterprises and MSPs.
