eVSM

eVSM is software for drawing and analysing value stream maps on a computer. It automates much of the work of building a map and sharing it with colleagues. Teams use it to find waste in a process and to plan improvements to the way work flows.

What eVSM offers

• Map drawing — builds value stream maps from multi-shape templates.
• Analysis — supports balancing production lines and shortening lead times.
• Idea management — collects improvement ideas on the map and supports storyboards.
• Sharing — passes finished maps to others by email and on the web.

Who it works with

Operations and improvement teams that study how work moves through a process, with the aim of raising capacity.

Key facts

• Purpose: reducing waste, balancing lines, cutting costs and increasing capacity.
