Bitrise Remote Dev Environments
Cloud Macs and Linux machines that match your CI exactly, for developers and for coding agents — start in seconds, archive over the weekend.
About this launch
Remote Dev Environments (RDE) is a new product from Bitrise, the mobile DevOps company, launched on 17 September 2026. It gives on-demand cloud virtual machines running the same images, toolchains and caches as Bitrise CI and Build Hub, so the environment code is written in matches the one it is tested in. Bitrise describes three layers of use: engineers attaching VS Code, Cursor, JetBrains, SSH or VNC to a cloud machine; a coding agent such as Claude Code or Codex pre-installed in that machine and running on the customer's own API keys; and fully autonomous agents that take a ticket, start a machine, write the code, run the tests, open the pull request and shut down, orchestrated in parallel through an open-source MCP server. Environments are created from templates with warm-up scripts, keep a persistent disk across restarts, and can be archived and restored later rather than left metered. The fleet is Apple Silicon (M2 Pro, M4 and M4 Pro) and Linux from 2 to 48 vCPU, in US and EU data centres, with credentials scoped per session and per-workspace quotas; Bitrise says a security sign-off already given for Bitrise covers RDE because it is the same infrastructure. Pricing starts at $18 per month billed annually ($20 monthly) for Basic and $36 billed annually ($40 monthly) for Pro, each with up to 1,440 included minutes a month per operating system, up to five concurrent machines and a monthly spend cap; Enterprise is custom. Bitrise itself has been listed here since before this launch; this is the separate product.
