FLUX 3 Image
Black Forest Labs’ image generation and editing model, released 1 October 2026: bounding-box layouts, edits that leave untouched pixels alone, multiple reference images and native 2K and 4K output, via API or commercial weights.
About this launch
FLUX 3 Image is the image model in Black Forest Labs’ FLUX 3 family. Press reports date its release to 1 October 2026; the German company announced the FLUX 3 family in July and has since released video and world-action models. The model is built for control. Users can compose or edit an image by drawing bounding boxes or sending a layout prompt, make edits that leave untouched pixels unchanged, supply several reference images (press reports say up to 10), and generate natively at 2K and 4K resolution so that small details are preserved. It is available in the Black Forest Labs Playground and through its API. Companies running image generation at scale can license the weights commercially to fine-tune and deploy on their own infrastructure. Black Forest Labs has not yet published open weights for this model, and the pages we read do not give its per-image price, so none is stated here.
Not yet independently verified: Black Forest Labs’ model page carries no date; the 1 October 2026 release date comes from press reports of 2 October. Its per-image price is not stated on the vendor pages we read (launch discounts were reported), so no price is given. Open weights for this model are not yet published. We will update this when it can be confirmed, and remove this note.
