About Forkbeard Technologies AS

Forkbeard Technologies AS develops indoor positioning technology. It pairs standard Bluetooth Low Energy with audio signals so that phones can work out where they are inside buildings, where satellite navigation does not reach. The target customers are companies that build location-aware apps.

What Forkbeard Technologies AS offers

  • Indoor positioning method — a patented approach that combines Bluetooth Low Energy with sound.
  • Software development kit — a toolkit that works with the very large installed base of iOS and Android devices.
  • Ultrasound distance measurement — distances are measured using the particular behaviour of ultrasound.
  • Signal processing — in-house algorithms refine the readings to improve positional accuracy.

Who it works with

The sources describe the technology rather than named customers. The kit is aimed at app developers and organisations that want indoor navigation or location features on ordinary smartphones.
