Founded in January 2015 and headquartered in Beijing, 51VR is the largest virtual reality technology company in China. As the earliest and the fastest-growing company in China that commercialized VR, 51VR aimed at making technology breakthrough by combining VR-focused computer graphics and artificial intelligence, and the implementation of the new technologies to real estate, automobile, education, and other fields.

51VR intended to eventually build a genuine virtual domain called “51World” which helps individuals and enterprises safely, efficiently and accurately explore the world, run AI training, and perform prediction.

51VR has set up an R&D department in Beijing, Shanghai, Chengdu, San Francisco, London, and Frankfurt. As the team has over 240 members, over 65% of which are research and development experts in computer graphics, computer vision and deep learning who graduated from Tsinghua University, Zhejiang University, Shanghai Jiaotong University, Stanford University, UCL, UIUC etc, and had working experience in companies such as MSRA, Autodesk, Crytek, CCP, Activision Blizzard, Virtuos, etc.

In 2017, 51VR was certified for National high-tech technology enterprise and won several awards in HTC Vive, UCCVR, VRCore, and other industry awards. By 2017, 51VR has raised more than 300,000,000 RMB of funding from over a dozen of investors including Lightspeed China Partners, Modern Land, SenseTime, Star VC, Green Living Equity, Green Pine Capital Partners, Tujia, SPD Silicon Valley Bank, etc.
