Solar Analytics

Solar Analytics is an Australian company that builds monitoring software for rooftop solar systems. It tracks how much a system produces and how much energy a household uses, and flags problems when output drops. The service is aimed at homes with solar panels, and there is also a login for energy retailers.

What Solar Analytics offers

• Solar monitoring — an online dashboard showing live production and consumption.
• Fault detection — alerts when a panel or the wider system is not performing as it should, with guidance on getting it fixed.
• Plan Optimiser — compares retail electricity plans to find a better fit for the household.
• Solar Maximiser — a free, independent report on whether rooftop solar, a battery or a hot water heat pump would cut energy costs most.
• Battery calculator — helps owners judge when a battery is worth buying and which one to choose.

Who it works with

Households that already have solar, or are weighing up solar, a battery or a heat pump. Energy retailers use a separate login. One of its projects received funding from the Australian Renewable Energy Agency.
