Netsec is a company that takes over the running of IT and cybersecurity for other businesses, working from inside the chat tools their staff already use. It operates under the legal name Barbican SAS, and its contact address sits on an Italian domain. Partech describes it as based in France and Italy.

What it does

Netsec combines managed IT with security operations in one service. The IT side covers device lifecycle and mobile device management, identity and single sign-on administration, a help desk that employees reach in Slack or Teams, and network, infrastructure and cloud work. The security side covers endpoint detection and response, email security, vulnerability management, round the clock security operations monitoring, an incident response retainer and security awareness training.

The company says these functions sit behind a single control plane that spans devices, identity, network, infrastructure, the security operations centre, the help desk and cloud, and that requests can also arrive through WhatsApp.

Partech describes the target customers as mid-market companies. Netsec's site lists former clients including Delivery Hero, Google, Rocket Internet, Arduino, Jumia, Westwing, Lazada, Global Fashion Group and the Italian Government's Digital Transformation Team.
