INEX

Member-owned internet exchange for Ireland that connects networks so they can swap IP traffic directly

About INEX

INEX is the internet peering point for the island of Ireland. It is a neutral association owned by its members, set up so that networks can exchange IP traffic with each other directly instead of routing it elsewhere. Membership is open to any organisation that would gain from peering.

What INEX offers

  • Peering in Dublin — switching centres in several secure data centres around the city, joined by dedicated resilient fibre.
  • INEX Cork — a separate regional exchange, launched in 2016, for traffic growth in Cork and the south-west.
  • IXP Manager — web-based software for running an exchange point, developed by INEX and released as open source.
  • Training — IPv6 courses run with RIPE NCC under its Eolas programme.

Who it works with

Irish and international organisations that want faster, steadier, lower-latency connections for their own customers.
