FreightDATA

FreightDATA Software builds dispatch and transportation management systems for trucking companies, freight brokers and third-party logistics (3PL) providers. It lists an address in Irvine, California, and some customers quoted on its site say they have used the software since 1995. The system is hosted on Amazon Web Services.

What FreightDATA offers

• Truckload dispatch — load dispatch, shipment tracking, rating and invoicing, and driver settlements.
• LTL dispatch — the same core functions shaped for less-than-truckload carriers.
• Intermodal dispatch — container tracking and management of intermodal moves.
• Brokerage and 3PL dispatch — tools for firms that arrange freight on other carriers' trucks.
• Add-ons — warehousing, EDI links, scanned documents and a tracking page for a client's website.

Who it works with

FreightDATA sells to transport firms from small carriers up to larger brokerages, and says its systems adapt to how each customer already works rather than forcing a change of practice.
