Egencia

Egencia is an online tool that companies use to book, change and keep track of employee trips. It started as the corporate travel arm of Expedia Group, and American Express Global Business Travel (Amex GBT) took it over, completing the purchase in November 2021. The product keeps its name under the new owner.

What Egencia offers

• Booking tool and app — web and mobile booking, changes and trip views for travellers.
• Policy controls — in-policy options shown first, with out-of-policy picks sent to a manager to approve.
• AI assistant — a conversational helper for questions, bookings and trip changes.
• Expense tools — expense handling tied into the booking platform.
• Agent connector — announced in July 2026, so that AI assistants and corporate software agents can book air and hotel trips within company policy.
• Support — chat, phone and in-app help around the clock from more than 2,500 travel agents.

Who it works with

Amex GBT markets Egencia to start-ups, mid-sized firms and multinationals, with country sites for markets including the US, the UK, India and South Africa.
