AlienVault
Former security software maker whose USM Anywhere platform and Open Threat Exchange now sit with LevelBlue
About AlienVault
AlienVault built unified security management software and started the Open Threat Exchange, a community where security teams share threat data. AT&T bought the company in 2018 and later placed its products in LevelBlue, a managed security business formed with WillJam Ventures in 2024, which runs them today. The products are sold to organisations that need central security monitoring and compliance reporting.
What AlienVault offers
- USM Anywhere — an open XDR platform that pulls security data from many sources into one view, correlates alerts and automates response.
- Built-in scanning — asset discovery, vulnerability assessment and ready-made compliance reports inside the same platform.
- Open Threat Exchange — a threat intelligence community where members publish Pulses listing malicious IP addresses, domains, file hashes and CVEs.
- BlueApps — more than 800 integrations linking USM Anywhere to other security and productivity tools.
- Editions — one build for government bodies, certified under FedRAMP, and another for MSSPs.
Who it works with
USM Anywhere is aimed at security operations teams, managed security providers and US government bodies. LevelBlue adds managed detection and response, consulting and incident response through its SpiderLabs research team.
