VI Partners

VI Partners is a Swiss venture capital advisory firm. It began as an investment vehicle set up in 2000 by ETH Zurich, McKinsey and ten large Swiss companies to encourage entrepreneurship and strengthen the country's venture industry.

• Venture investing — it has arranged 57 investments over two decades.
• Seed-stage backing — more than half of those investments came at the seed stage.
• University spin-out focus — about two thirds involved companies that came out of ETH Zurich, EPFL and other Swiss universities.
• Fund advice — it now advises funds investing in ventures across Europe.

Who it works with

Its portfolio has included Ganymed, Esbatech, Kuros, Nexthink and SumUp. Its founding members also served as jury and board members for national start-up support organisations.
