Hinge Capital backs founders across the earliest stages of company building, from friends-and-family and pre-seed rounds through Series A, describing itself as being most useful the earlier it gets involved. Since 2010 it has invested in more than 90 companies and says it has also built founder programmes and engineered software tools that its portfolio companies can use from the earliest stages. It describes its team as half start-up and half venture capital, made up of operators, data scientists, designers and engineers who work alongside its investors, and it positions its capital as flexible and intended for higher-risk, next-generation technology investments. The firm is based in Austin, Texas.
