Bios Partners is a venture capital firm that identifies and invests in biotechnology companies located in parts of the United States it considers overlooked and under-invested, outside the usual concentration of venture capital on the coasts. The firm says it seeks opportunities with compelling science across the central United States. Its portfolio includes several clinical-stage companies: Actuate, developing therapeutics for cancers and inflammatory diseases; Cognition Therapeutics, working on neurodegenerative disorders; Encore Vision, a Novartis subsidiary developing treatments for presbyopia; i-Lumen Scientific, developing a device for vision loss from retinal degeneration; Immusoft, developing modified B cell therapies for rare genetic diseases; IN8bio, working on cell therapy for cancer; Lantern Pharma, applying machine learning and genomics to cancer drug development; Lung Therapeutics, focused on pulmonary conditions; and ONL Therapeutics, working on retinal disease treatments.
