Gymnastics meets from club registration to live results

LiveMeet is web-based meet management and scoring software from SportzSoft. It started with artistic gymnastics, now also scores trampoline and tumbling, and the vendor says it has added rhythmic and aerobic scoring, first used at a major international school-sports games. Clubs, leagues and meet organizers around the world use it, and the idea is to hold every part of a competition in one connected system rather than a pile of spreadsheets and paper sheets.

Club registration and fees

Each participating club registers through its own portal, entering and paying for its athletes online. That spreads the data entry across the clubs and cuts errors for the organizer. An athlete's registration is based on birth date and category, so each one lands at the right level, and coaches can be registered too. Organizers can set one default fee for every category or specific fees per category, and a single screen shows who has paid and how many athletes each club has entered. For women's artistic meets, clubs can upload a music file for each athlete during registration and the organizer can play it at the floor routine, so nobody has to chase discs or memory sticks.

Sessions and rotations

Session management is described as the heart of the system. A session is built from one or more categories, athletes registered in those categories join it automatically, and rotation groups are formed from the list with drag and drop and a range of filters. During the competition one screen shows the status of each apparatus group, how many athletes have been scored, the scoring rules in use and the judges assigned.

Scoring and results

Judges enter scores on tablets over WiFi, removing paper and runners. Results update in real time for spectators at the venue and for parents following on phones or tablets at home, so post-session awards can begin immediately.

Volunteers and communication

A volunteer module lets administrators define shifts and the number and types of volunteers needed for each session. Volunteers use a portal to manage their own profile and sign up. Role-based security controls access, several users can work on the same data at once, and built-in mass email keeps clubs and helpers informed. A separate league product is also announced on the vendor's site.
