1 October 2026 — FRANK, a Lisbon company that builds software to handle insurance brokers' back-office work, has reached €2.9 million in total investment, according to a post by its investor Armilar Venture Partners dated 1 October 2026. FRANK's product logs into insurers' portals on a broker's behalf to collect quotes, file claims and update client records.

Not yet independently verified. The investor's own post gives €2.9 million as total investment, which may include earlier money; its full text is a download we could not open. The stage, the co-investor and the use of funds come from press reports, and an outlet's own summary named the co-investor differently from its article text. We will update this when it can be confirmed, and remove this note.

The round

Armilar's post is headed "FRANK reaches €2.9 million in total investment". It describes the figure as a total, so it may include money raised before this round. Press reports describe the round as a seed led by Armilar together with Start Ventures. One outlet's own summary table named the co-investor differently from its article text, so the co-investor is not settled here.

According to those reports, FRANK will spend the money on research and development, on onboarding new clients, and on international expansion planned for 2027.

What the company does

FRANK describes its product as an AI operator for insurance brokers. Brokers typically work across many insurers, each with its own web portal. FRANK's software signs into those portals, fills in forms, retrieves quotes, files claims and updates client records, the repetitive work that otherwise takes up a broker's staff time. Press reports cite more than 350 brokerages and 1,500 users; those figures come from the company and have not been checked.

Why it matters for buyers

Insurance distribution is a classic case of software that works across systems nobody controls: insurers rarely offer brokers a common API, so the work is done by hand in each portal. Agents that operate a browser on a user's behalf are one answer, and this round adds to a growing number of vertical tools built on that approach. For brokerages it also raises questions that a classic integration would not, about credentials, audit and liability.

What to check

  • How the software stores and uses your insurer portal credentials, and whether insurers' terms allow automated access.
  • What it does when a portal changes its layout, and how quickly a broken flow is fixed.
  • How every action it takes is logged so that you can show a regulator or client what was done and when.
  • Who is responsible if it submits a wrong quote or claim.
  • Which insurers and markets it covers today, beyond Portugal.
