AIONA raises ¥140 million, in equity and bank loans, for REVY, an AI agent for manufacturing design

24 September 2026 — AIONA, a company based in Shibuya, Tokyo, announced on 24 September 2026 that it has raised ¥140 million (1.4億円) in total, according to its own release on PR TIMES. The company states that this figure combines equity and debt.

Not yet independently verified. The ¥140 million is not all equity: the company’s release combines J-KISS convertible equity with bank loans and does not say how much is debt. We will update this when it can be confirmed, and remove this note.

The round

  • Amount: ¥140 million in total, made up of J-KISS convertible equity (a Japanese standard form similar to a SAFE) and bank loans.
  • Equity lead: ON&BOARD.
  • Other investors named: GxPartners, Crest Skill Partners and Mizuho Capital.
  • Lenders named: Aichi Bank and Mizuho Bank.
  • Use of the money: mainly to strengthen development of REVY.

What the company does

REVY is an AI agent for engineering and design work in manufacturing. The company says it helps turn requirements into design specifications, finds and reuses past designs, supports risk analyses such as FMEA (failure mode and effects analysis) and DRBFM (design review based on failure mode), and checks drawings.

Why it matters for buyers

Japanese manufacturers hold large archives of past designs and design reviews, often in documents and drawings that are hard to search, and many experienced engineers are retiring. Tools that make that knowledge reusable, and automate routine review steps, target a widely felt problem. The use of bank lending alongside equity at this stage is also common in Japan's start-up financing.

What to check

  • Engineering managers should test REVY on their own past designs and review documents, and ask how its output is checked before it enters a formal design review.
  • IT and security should confirm where design data is stored and processed, given the sensitivity of product designs, and whether the system can run in a private environment.
  • Quality teams should ask how AI-assisted FMEA output is documented for customer and certification audits.
