Aerial Drobotics

Aerial Drobotics is an Indian company based in Namakkal that supplies drones for agriculture, including spraying and seed spreading. Its site says the drones are designed to help farmers with labour shortages, uneven spraying and wasted chemicals. The company also offers rental, service and repair, and builds customised machines for farmers and industrial users. It focuses on grain crops such as rice, wheat and corn.

Drone range and use

• Spray drones: payload options from 10 to 22 litres or kilograms, with interchangeable nozzles.
• Seed spreader: a 10-litre drone for spreading seeds, fertilisers and pesticides over larger areas.
• Flight modes: automatic and manual flight options, with long battery life and easy transport.
• Field imaging: sensors and imaging that the site says support crop monitoring and yield planning.

Problems the drones address

The site describes Indian farming as facing climate change, unpredictable weather, crop disease and irrigation problems. It says drone spraying can save up to 40 percent of pesticide use and reduces people's contact with fertilisers and pesticides. The company says it launched its drones at a budget-friendly price for the farming community.

Rental and claims

Farmers and industries can rent spray drones on a pay-per-acre model or a payday rental model. The site claims spraying can run 40 to 60 times faster than manual work and save up to 90 percent of water. It reports that the company has helped more than 200 farmers and that 5,236 plots of land have been sprayed by its drones.
