Approvegate

Deploy-approval gate for GitHub Actions and GitLab CI: production releases proceed only once approved, with approvals recorded against the commit, separation of duties, freeze windows and policy as code.

About Approvegate

Not yet independently verified. The launch date rests on the maker’s own Show HN post of 3 October 2026 (posted again on 5 October); the site carries no dated announcement and does not name the operating company. Prices are as the site listed them on 5 October; no independent report was found. We will update this when it can be confirmed, and remove this note.

Approvegate adds a deploy-approval check to GitHub Actions and GitLab CI pipelines, so that a production release proceeds only when the change has been approved, with the approval recorded against the commit or build artifact. It enforces separation of duties, freeze windows and policies written as code, and can run first in a shadow mode that never blocks a deploy but shows what would have been blocked. The site listed a free tier for one service, a Team plan at $167 a month billed annually for up to ten services with evidence exports, and an enterprise tier with single sign-on, longer audit-log retention and self-hosting. The maker presented it on Hacker News on 3 October 2026. It is aimed at producing change-management evidence for audits; buyers should check how approvals are tied to tickets or pull requests and where the audit log is stored.
