Loomio

Loomio is a web application where groups discuss a question, make a proposal and reach a recorded outcome. People take part through the web, email or mobile, in their own time. It aims to replace long meetings and email chains for organisations that work remotely.

What Loomio offers

• Discussion threads — keep the question, background and documents in one place.
• Polls and voting — people give a position along with their reasons.
• Outcome records — results and next steps stay searchable for later.
• Templates — start with a simple process, then adapt and save it for the group.
• Self-hosting — open-source code with private server options so users control their data.

Who it works with

Co-operatives, campaigning groups, member organisations and companies running self-managed or distributed teams.
