Phrase

Phrase began as a tool built by developers who needed to localise a travel booking platform into many languages at speed. Their in-place editing approach became the In-Context Editor, and by late 2011 it had grown into a prototype of the product.

What Phrase offers

• Localisation platform — manages, automates and delivers translated content for software and marketing material.
• In-Context Editor — lets translators edit text while browsing the live product.
• API clients and integrations — connect the platform to developer workflows and other tools.
• AI orchestration — selects translation engines and language models for each piece of content, with quality estimation before release.
• Context and governance — translation memories, terminology, style guides and analytics in one place.

Who it works with

Software developers, localisation managers and translators, and enterprises that publish content in many markets. Early material says customers span more than 60 countries.
