Chinese group building SUVs, pickups and new energy vehicles under six brands, with production in China, Thailand and Brazil.
Great Wall Motor, usually shortened to GWM, is a vehicle group headed from China. Its own company page names six brands: HAVAL, WEY, TANK, ORA, POER and SOUO. Together they cover SUVs, pickup trucks, new energy vehicles, motorcycles, heavy-duty trucks and luxury off-road vehicles. Its R&D and design staff number more than 25,000.
The company says it operates ten major full-process vehicle bases in China and names eight of them: Baoding, Xushui, Tianjin, Rizhao, Yongchuan, Taizhou, Jingmen and Pinghu. Taizhou is described as a plant mostly producing new energy vehicles. Outside China it lists full-process plants in Eurasia, in Rayong, Thailand, and in Iracemapolis, Brazil, which was completed in August 2025 with a capacity of 50,000 vehicles a year. Exports began in 1998 and the company states that it reaches more than 170 countries and regions. Its global website links to brand sites in about 60 countries across Asia, Europe, the Americas, Africa and Oceania.
GWM develops hybrid, pure electric and hydrogen powertrains in parallel. The Rayong plant is its first overseas factory for new energy vehicles, starting at 80,000 vehicles a year with 40 percent local content. The site presents Hi4, a dual-motor four-wheel-drive hybrid system, and Hi4-T, a parallel petrol-electric layout. The ORA brand carries the group's battery-electric small cars in European markets, where its ORA 03 is sold in Ireland, Sweden and the United Kingdom. The pages read do not say whether Hi4 models plug in, so none is listed.
