Will social media survive the AI change? What the evidence says
Our overnight sample had no social referrers, while Meta's crawlers made 5.9% of page requests. Usage, labelling rules and the EU AI Act…
One interface through which AI agents reach official data providers, Firecrawl’s own research, developer and government indexes, and the live web — with providers paid when agents use their data. Runs on Firecrawl credits.
Alexandria is a data-access layer for AI agents from Firecrawl, the web-data company, announced on Firecrawl’s blog on 22 September 2026 and listed on Product Hunt the next day. Instead of each agent scraping pages or wiring up separate data APIs, Alexandria gives it one interface to three kinds of source: official data providers, Firecrawl’s own specialised indexes of research, developer and government material, and the live web. Firecrawl’s pitch is that the organisations supplying the knowledge are paid when agents use it, which puts it on the licensed side of the argument about how AI systems should get their data. The product page listed 93 providers and 640 capabilities across 20 categories when read on 25 September 2026; the launch announcement gave smaller figures, so the count is growing and worth checking for the sources a buyer needs. It has no price of its own and runs on Firecrawl’s credit plans: free with 1,000 credits, then $16, $83, $333 and $599 a month billed annually, and custom enterprise terms. A buyer should ask which providers’ terms apply to data retrieved through it, since each provider may set its own. It is listed as “Alexandria by Firecrawl” because the name is shared by unrelated companies.
