Shelter Buddy

ShelterBuddy is software for animal shelters and animal control agencies, covering animals in care, adoptions, volunteers, donors and licensing. It was developed by RSPCA Queensland, an Australian animal welfare organisation, to replace its own old systems.

The system has since spread to Australia, New Zealand, the United States, Canada and Ireland.

What ShelterBuddy offers

• Animal processes — intake, strays, reclaims and adoptions.
• Medical and licensing records — treatments and services recorded while an animal is in care.
• Adoption site uploads — publishes animals to third-party adoption sites.
• Reporting — records and reports for compliance, fundraising and community relations.
• Support — a helpline, training and ongoing upgrades from a dedicated team.

Who it works with

Shelters of all types, municipal animal control, and groups running several locations. Plans range from Express for smaller rescues to Pro and Gold for larger operations.
